Literacy for Life
Program Description
Literacy for Life, also known as Summer in the City, is a program for families with young children who face language and cultural barriers. The program offers literacy services and helps families learn about and use local community resources. Children and their parents attend community activities held during the summer months and use these activities as opportunities to practice basic English skills.
Ages Served
Children who are infants through five years old and their parents.
Class Schedule
Six weeks during the summer months.
Eligibility
Low-income; familys primary language must be other than English.
